Adaptive Concept for the Future of Learning

EdTech provider PINKTUM has developed AI-supported learning paths

Skills development is individualized, gradual, and adaptive

The concept was honored with eLearning Journal’s Award for "Innovation"

HAMBURG/CHICAGO, January 12, 2024 -- The market for digital personnel development is growing. A key quality criterion is that PINKTUM’s learning process adapts to the individual development needs and time available to learners. AI is considered a key technology for this, and numerous new applications are expected. With its digital learning journey, the EdTech company has developed a concept that experts consider to be the future of learning. It is based on adaptive learning that conforms to individual requirements and successively integrates new AI applications. It currently consists of three stages:

1. AI-supported determination of the learning profile

2. Multi-modular intensive training

3. Short refresher units

The eLearning Journal has selected PINKTUM to receive its Innovation Award for this approach.

"PINKTUM has developed a pioneering learning concept,” said Frank Siepmann, publisher of the eLearning Journal. “The fact that the learning process is sustainably structured and can be easily expanded to include other AI applications was crucial for us to award the innovation prize."

The three stages of PINKTUM’s e-learning journey, in detail:

- AI-supported identification of skill gaps: In just five minutes, the "PINKTUM Profile" assessment records personality features and skills, then evaluates them with AI support to highlight strengths and identify areas for possible development. The result is a report of recommended e-training courses.

Scientific background: The psychometric method was developed in collaboration with motivational researcher Prof. David Scheffer and PINKTUM's parent company PAWLIK Group (an international personnel development company founded in 1996). Scientifically, the method is based on the relationship between a person's visual perception and their personality-system interactions.

- Multi-modular training: Learning recommendations provide direction within PINKTUM’s portfolio of around 600 multi-modular e-training courses available in several languages. These intensive and interactive courses last around 50 minutes each. The information learned is then consolidated through transfer tasks and in workbooks.

- Targeted repetition: To refresh what you have learned, if necessary, the extensive course content is divided into various microlearnings of 3 - 5 minutes. The subjects are conveyed briefly and concisely, for example: "What makes a crisis meeting successful?", or "What is important in an elevator pitch?". Quick concepts like these enable a user to visualize the answers ahead of an important meeting.

"We are delighted with the award. The learning of the future is individual and adaptive,” said Joachim Pawlik, PINKTUM CEO. “It is crucial for us to expand the basic components of our e-learning journey with additional knowledge- and data-based AI modules. Customers have no additional costs as a result of the integration."
